Privacy policy
How The App Channel handles the personal data you share with us on theappchannel.com.
Last updated October 13, 2026The short version
- We only collect what you send us: the contact form, the newsletter if you tick the box, and webinar sign-ups.
- We use it to answer you and, if you said yes, to send you news. We never sell it.
- We keep contact details for 24 months after our last contact, unless you become a partner or customer.
- You can see, correct or delete your data at any time. Just write to jonas@theappchannel.com.
Who we are
The App Channel is the trading name of The App Channel Group Limited, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17410584.
We are the controller of the personal data described here. That means we decide how and why it is used, and we are responsible for it.
Questions about your data go to jonas@theappchannel.com. We answer within one month.
What we collect and why
We collect personal data in five situations. The table shows what we collect, why, and the legal basis we rely on.
| When | What we collect | Why | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| You send the contact form | Your name, email and company, whether you are a partner, ISV, customer or something else, and your phone number and message if you add them. We also save your consent answers, the exact consent text and the time. | To answer your inquiry and follow up on it. | Your consent, given with the first checkbox. |
| You sign up for the newsletter | Your name and email, and a record of your consent. | To send you news, product updates and event invitations by email. | Your consent, given with the second checkbox. It is optional. |
| You receive the newsletter | Whether you opened an email and which links you clicked. | To see what readers find useful, and to stop sending emails nobody reads. | Your consent to the newsletter. |
| You register for a webinar | Your name, email and company, and the webinar you chose. You register on this site, and the details go straight to HubSpot. | To send you the link, reminders and the recording. | Contract: you asked to take part. |
| You visit the site | Technical data in our hosting provider's logs, such as your IP address, your browser and the pages you open. Lovable, our hosting provider, also gives us visitor statistics: the pages viewed, where the visit came from, the type of device and the country, worked out from your browser's time zone. It does not build profiles of visitors or follow them across visits. | To run the site, keep it secure and see which pages are useful. | Our legitimate interest in a working, secure and useful website. |
We do not use advertising tools or follow you across other websites, we do not buy data about you, and we do not make automated decisions about you.
Transfers outside the UK and the EU
Our website data is stored in the EU, in Ireland, and our HubSpot account is in the EU, in Germany. Some of our providers are based in the United States and may access data from there, for example to give support. When that happens, the transfer is covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK extension, or by standard contractual clauses approved for this purpose.
How long we keep it
- Inquiries and webinar sign-ups: 24 months after our last contact with you. Then we delete them, in HubSpot and in the website's database. If you become a partner or customer, we keep them for as long as we work together.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep a note that you unsubscribed, so we never email you again by mistake, and the record of your consent, so we can show we had it.
- Technical logs: for a short time, set by our hosting provider.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Show you the data we hold about you, and give you a copy.
- Correct data that is wrong.
- Delete your data.
- Limit how we use it, or stop using it.
- Send your data to you or to another company in a common format.
You can withdraw your consent at any time. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link, or you can write to jonas@theappchannel.com. Withdrawing does not affect what we did before.
Write to us and we will answer within one month. If you are not happy with the answer, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live or work, for example the ICO in the UK or Datatilsynet in Denmark. We would like the chance to put it right first.
How we protect it
The site only runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Form submissions are stored in a database that visitors cannot read, and only approved team members can see them.
Children
The site is for businesses. It is not meant for children, and we do not knowingly collect data about anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
When we change how we use data, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects something you agreed to, we ask you again.
